Changes to Regulation regarding the sharing of information for customers with a Credit Facility

We are writing to inform you of an important regulatory requirement concerning the sharing of information relating to your existing or future credit facilities with the Bank.

In accordance with Directive No. 14, reporting institutions, including BNF Bank, are required to make certain information relating to customers available on the Central Credit Register. This is for the purposes of regulatory reporting, supervision, and credit worthiness assessment. As a result, information relating to your credit facilities with the Bank, including personal data where applicable, will be recorded on this Register.

Furthermore, such information may be shared with other financial institutions (FIs) and financial vehicle corporations (FVCs), where required under the Directive. Where applicable, the information recorded on the Register may also be shared with credit reference agencies for the purpose of issuing credit scores, in accordance with Article 24A of the Act and Directive No. 15.

Please be assured that:

  • Only information required by law will be shared;
  • All personal data will be processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR);
  • Appropriate safeguards are in place to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of the information.

No action is required from you following this notification. This letter is being provided to ensure transparency and to keep you informed of how information relating to your credit facilities may be processed and shared in line with regulatory obligations.
