BNF Bank launches Staff Volunteering Days initiative to support local communities

BNF Bank has launched a new Staff Volunteering Day initiative, continuing to uphold its promise to support the communities it serves and encouraging employees to actively contribute to meaningful causes.

The initiative forms part of the Bank’s wider benefit programme for employees, allowing them to volunteer with their preferred NGOs. In parallel, the Bank’s ESG People Pillar is organising volunteering events, which staff can choose to participate in.

Since the launch of the initiative, members of staff have already taken part in several volunteering activities with organisations including the Soup Kitchen OFM Valletta, Noah’s Ark Dog Sanctuary, and the Association for Abandoned Animals (AAA). These experiences have allowed employees to engage directly with communities and organisations that provide essential support and care to vulnerable individuals and animals.

The volunteering days are designed not only to support charitable organisations, but also to encourage a stronger sense of social responsibility, teamwork, and community engagement among employees.

Antonella Aquilina, Head of Human Resources, said: “At BNF Bank, we believe that being a responsible organisation goes beyond banking services. Through the Staff Volunteering Days initiative, we want to create opportunities for our employees to give back to the community in a meaningful and hands-on manner. The response from staff has been very positive, and we are proud to support organisations that carry out valuable work every day.”

BNF Bank plans to continue expanding the initiative over the coming months through collaborations with other organisations and community groups across Malta and Gozo.
