Banif Blood Donation Day

Apart from offering financial products and services aimed to improve the quality of life of its clients, Banif Bank (Malta) plc is engaged in various initiatives intended to enhance the social wellbeing of the community in which it operates. Some of these social projects involve direct support from its employees, through invaluable work done by the Banif Sports and Social Committee.

During one of these events organised by the Sports and Social Committee of the Bank, a good number of Banif employees volunteered to donate blood at the Blood Donation Mobile Unit, which was stationed in front of Banif Bank’s Head Office premises in Gzira.

The purpose of this initiative is to help the Blood Donation Mobile Unit recruit new blood donors, especially those who have a tight schedule. This mobile unit collects more than 3000 units of blood per year and has become an important source of blood collection.

“This is the second year that Banif employees are donating blood. The Banif Blood Donation Day has been included in our calendar of events, as we feel that we need to create more awareness about the importance of blood donation ”, commented a Bank director, when speaking about the event. “At Banif we believe in the power of humankind. We believe that we have a responsibility towards the local community, which is expressed through our values and our actions”, concluded the Bank’s representative.
