The President’s Solidarity Fun Run 2015

“Seven years down the road, we keep being pleasantly surprised by the spectacular turnout and enthusiasm all round,” said Banif CEO Joaquim F. Silva Pinto at the end of this year’s President’s Solidarity Fun Run.

“Way back in 2009 we never expected the Fun Run to become one of the country’s major solidarity events, but here we are again in a fantastic show of support to those in need. This is what Malta is all about!” Indeed, since its inception, the Fun Run has been emulated by many, and now walks and runs have become a mainstay in the country’s annual calendar of fund raisers.

Once again, thousands of walkers and runners streamed from Paola, Msida, Santa Venera and a new Rabat route, converging at Bombi to enter St. George’s Square in Valletta under the fitting banner of ‘One Nation, One Heartbeat’. The President’s Solidarity Fun Run has been supported by Banif Bank for seven consecutive years and has kept growing in size and significance.

Organised by the MCCF and Sport Malta in aid of L-Istrina, this year’s edition took athletes’ feedback on board and made the runners’ route a longer one. As is customary, personalities, VIPs and teams from companies and organisations joined the fray and created the festive atmosphere that has become a key characteristic of the event. In keeping with their commitment, Banif employees and their families pitched in on the day and in the run up to the event.
