Banif Bank (Malta) plc reduces its base rate

Banif Bank (Malta) plc is announcing that it will be reducing its base rate from 3.5% to 3.0% with effect from Friday 12th December 2008. The decision has been taken in light of the recent developments announced by the European Central Bank.

Whilst acknowledging the need to support the local economic and financial scenario by adjusting its base rate in order to facilitate personal and business investment opportunities, the Bank’s decision reaffirms its beliefs to safeguard customer savings. Banif will be offering minimum interest rates of 1.0% on personal savings accounts and 0.75% on current accounts, making Banif one of the most interesting options for depositors in the market. Banif Bank also offers very competitive interest rates on normal term deposits and its range of special deposit accounts.

These rates will also enable the Bank to support the consumer and business lending requirements. Banif Bank considers every financing proposition on its own merits, and is flexible to meet the client’s individual needs.

For more information about our competitive rates one may call at one of the Banif branches in Qormi, San Gwann, St. Paul's Bay and St. Julian's. Alternatively the Bank can be contacted on telephone number 2260 1000 or email - [email protected]
