Banif supports Circolo Gozitano

Banif Bank (Malta) plc is supporting Circolo Gozitano with a sponsorship that will help the Association organise its events for 2013. Every year the Circolo puts up a number of important events in Gozo’s calendar including the Ġieħ Għawdex Awards and Gozo Day.

Gozo Day marks the anniversary of the capitulation of the French after the uprisings of 1789, while Ġieħ Għawdex honours personalities or organisations who have contributed to the social and economic development of Gozo, as well as to the preservation and promotion of Gozo’s distinct identity.

“This partnership is a result of Banif’s investment in the Gozitan community,” said Joaquim F. Silva Pinto, CEO, Banif Bank (Malta) plc. “Through our presence in Gozo we have fostered collaborations with a number of organisations, both in the economic sphere and in the social one. These partnerships are growing as our business increases and they are a testimony to the trust shown by our ever increasing customer base.”

The Circolo Gozitano was established in Victoria, in 1913 and is committed to promoting culture, maintaining Gozitan traditions and promoting Gozitan identity. Towards this end, cultural and educational activities are organised on a regular basis.
