Branch Manager - Retail Banking Unit

The Bank is seeking to recruit a Branch Manager to join its Retail Banking Unit.

Duties and responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

  • Develop the commercial aspect of the branch whilst ensuring that customer satisfaction, profitability and growth are in line with the Bank's strategy;
  • Provide excellent customer service in line with the Bank’s overall standard;
  • Achieve and exceed set targets by proactively planning and organising business- related initiatives and activities to attain performance objectives and to increase business volume and profitability;
  • Manage the entire portfolio of customers whilst pursuing opportunities for growth from current and prospective clients;
  • Instil and share a sales culture vision with your team;
  • Professionally and efficiently manage the day to day operations of the branch;
  • Develop team members to their full potential through training, mentoring and support;
  • Review the branch’s performance on an ongoing basis;
  • Ensure operational soundness, strict adherence to compliance regulations and established rules and procedures; and;
  • Develop lasting relationships with the various stakeholders in the local community.;

Competencies and experience

You are a reliable and trustworthy team player with an aptitude for learning, able to work in a dynamic environment, meticulous and organised in your work.

You must also:

  • Have a minimum of 7 years experience within the banking sector, with at least 3 years experience at supervisory level in retail banking;
  • Have excellent communication skills and customer service approach;
  • Possess strong leadership and team management skills;
  • Uphold a professional attitude at all times;
  • Be decisive when taking actions based on established policies and procedures;
  • Be highly organised and meticulous in your work;
  • Be flexible, highly committed and possess excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Maltese; and
  • Have a degree either in Banking & Finance, Business Management, Economics or in a related field.
